For a night of swearing, drunken rambling, journalist baiting, substance abuse and - who knows - maybe even a song or two Seriously though, this gig looks like another big-league gig for the Rockhouse and Derby! Keep it up!

Although i haven't liked any of the artists booked by the rockhouse recently it's nice to see bands i've actually heard of playing derby. i'm sure it's only a matter of time before i'll get to see a gig in derby instead of travelling to nottingham to see some bands i like.

The only places I know that put on touring bands are Rockcity (usually too mainstream for me) and infrequently at The Old Angel, with Seven and The Bodega perhaps getting some stuff, too. I suppose Derby is a much better scene - IF you like indie music - with two medium sized venues getting such touring bands through on a weekly basis.

I like to think that Nottingham has nothing better than Derby, but it's venues are far more estabilised. Derby still doesn't seem to be on many bands radar. I generally like to see metal bands and for that i need to travel, either notts, wolverhampton or birmingham. if indie was my choice i think i'd be pretty spolit for choice in Derby.
