First of all I'd like to welcome you to the Derby Music forum. its a place for local musicians and gig goers to come and find out whats going on in the local area and also for bands and musicians to advertise gigs, sell used gear and partake general discussions!!
This section is directed at helping new users work the forum, a few pointers and also a few of the ground rules down.
new here? introduce your self in the 'introduce yourself' thread
why not add your bands info in the 'Band Database'

FAQ's
posting a picture
to post a picture, you will first need an web hosting account. something like photobucket.com, facebook or myspace will work.
Then find the url of the picture (right click it, click properties, then copy the url)
then paste the url of the picture into the image code (replace here) here[ /img] (also removing the space before the /img)
this is also the case when posting a picture in your signature
Chosing a skin
the forum's got a few different 'skins' to choose from... this is where you can select a different colour scheme you wish to view the forum with!
the skin choice option is available in your profile section under 'modify profile'. Under the heading 'account options" heading, theres a skin choice drop down menu!
Want your songs up on the forum music player?
first you'll need to host the song online, on a site such as www.fileden.com.
then PM me (Will) with the direct link of the song, song title and who its by and i'll sort out the rest as soon as i can!
alternitivly - ask me very nicely and send me the song and i'll upload it for you!... very nicely...
Other info...
Posting upcoming gig/events info
instad of post up coming gig info into the community discussion, it would be good if you could post it in the 'Calendar'
When you do this, it'll show up a new tab in the forum statistics on the main page, saying 'events this month'... and list everything thats going off! - very clever!
